BMW Shorties Gala Premier

In issue #2, TIS brings BMW Shorties in the film-competitions column.

BMW Shorties, the result of a marriage between classy sophistication and raw talent. The short film award is the colossal car brand's way of giving back to the community via film grants and a platform for indie and student film makers to showcase their works.

What made this year's wards even more awesome, apart from having the highest number of entries since it birth in 06, was the announcement of TWO grand prize winners! Grand prize winners (In no particular order, we believe in equal rights!) "Ma Chai" by Shanjhey Kumar Permal and "Conversation with a Mad Man" by Brandon Loh.

Both winners will receive RM37,400 in production assistance and mentorship from the judgess.. Not forgetting the Pople's Choice Award, given to Prakash Murugiah for his entry "Flashes" and a Special Mention recognition was given to "Resonance" by John Cho. TIS would like to salute the judges for their passion and commitment in making this a success, a big TIS-Thanks to June Wong, Surinder Jessy, Tan Chui Mui, Zahir Omar and Ida Nerina. A big shout-out to BMW for supporting the indie scene and giving us a platform to celebrate our creative difference and freedome of expression. Much love! Hmm... Perhaps next year we can have a BMW Shor-TIS?
