As common as the phrase can be, Darren and gang chose the name An Honest Mistake as their band's name, as they are looking into creating different personalities, oppositions and yet practice unity within the band. Most of their songs are made of random lines and stuff that don't make much sense, hence their first single, "This song is so random I don't know why". But as the band grows, the songs matured, lately relating to relationship, stuff around, life, those sorta things.
Started in March 08, music wise the band is unanimously agreeing on pop-punk with much hard core influences to it. Each and everyone in the band has different preferences and choice of music, "There's so much of elements in our music, how to define? Besides, with so many of us coming from different kind of influences, I must say we have come to find our own sound. Anyways, there's no need to define, we're just different" Darren says while Kevin Theng, the drummer looks on.
Having them recording their singles now, they are looking into releasing as many singles as they can before releasing an album. With this they can save on cost and printing, what's new for an indie band. But, having said that, An Honest Mistake is vast in promoting and selling their own merchandises.
