RAV

In issue #1, TIS brings you the band RAV in the music-band column.

RAV was formed in 2003, which consist of current five members, Faiz (vocals), A.D. and Hasbee (guitars), Alif (bass) and Shah (drums). The history of the making of RAV started with their friendship, having said all five of them had their own bands at that period of time. Hanging out at a common hub, Der Schatten, a jamming studio in Taman Tun (which no longer open, sorry dudes and dudess), these lads had their differences and similarity all at once, hence the formation of RAV.

The name RAV, in long, Random Act of Violence, may be as cheesy as it sounds. But given the fact of an incident of them witnessing some act of vandalism, they decided to condone to such act of immorality. Hence they produce progressive music without too much of technicalities, but with much rock elements into their music. Having a variety of individual preferences, they click on common ground having the band Tool as their main influence.

Up to date they have performed various gigs, ranging from different themes from acoustic sessions to metal underground gigs. Having performed in places like King Studio, Jam Asia, French Fest and the latest in Urbanattic to name a few.

RAV released their first single "Let me be me" in 2003, followed suit by more right after that. Other recognized tunes are Seven Messages, Gravity to name a few. For those who are interested to dig them more, you could visit their website at www.myspace.com/ravmusic.

To date, RAV is back in the scene, having performed in Urbanattic for the Poserama-3 gig. RAV was part of TIS launch last August 15th, rocking up the stage last. You could check out their pictures and videos on their Facebook, under the name RAV.
