Passion through his camera lense - Azfar Hadi Lim

In issue #2, TIS introduces you a young talented up and coming photographer in this new column photography-interview.

In this latest column of TIS, we bring you a passionate photographer Azfar Hadi Lim, a 20 year old diploma student majoring in Interior Design in Segi College, talks about his heart, soul and passion in photography. Azfar started his photography craze about for years ago. He started out taking pictures while hanging out at his favourite spot that overlooks the sunset from a hilltop near his house. Having different feelings daily at the very same spot, he intends to try and capture the differences of feelings and try freeze the moment through his lens. After that few tries, he developed the interest in photography pushing him further into the trade, learning up on the gadgets, techniques and stuff.

His main influence or style we could put it is in music photography, where he loves taking band photos, live performances those sort. Having most of his close friends in bands, he follows them to their gigs and shows and started finding his style in expressing himself through his photos. He may be new in the scene, but during the interview we manage to capture the amount of passion inside of him, talking about his camera which he calls Lisa, which means so much to him, "At times I rather not eat, and just save up that little bit of money to get magazines or that little extra to help me with my journey in improving myself. Azfar sees art through his heart and eyes, "It's not about maths, where 1+1=2, but it's more about how I feel, how I can capture something dead and giving it life through photography. Cause art is so subjective, people may see things differently, but to me, whatever it is, I'll keep trying, and trying till I get there somehow".
