Oh Chentaku Album Launch

In issue #1, TIS brings you the Oh Chentaku's Album Launch in the music-gig column.

Oh Chentaku was formed two years ago somewhere in the month of June. Consisting of three music enthusiastic neighbours, Myo (vocals/guitars), Adib (drums) and Naem (bass) from Kelana Jaya, who loves to play with creativity in music making.

They have recently fnished with their debut album record after making a remarkable tour around the world, such as Indonesia, Bangkok, Singapore, Amsterdam, London, Dublin to nae a few.

Prior to their debut album, they have successfully recorded two EPs, Heartbreak Ridge Was Never This Arrogant in November 2007, and Off-broadway Twilights: The Official Europe Release in April 2009. To add on to their impressive collection, Oh Chentaku released their Suitcase, A Scarf and The Departure on their album launched which happened on the 26th July 2009 at Eighty-Four Cube Studio Gallery in Ampang, Kuala Lumpur.

About 50 friends and fans turn up to support the band, even with the entrance fee of RM30 (which includes the album, posters and stickers), the studio was filled pack with the echoes of the lyrics, ringing around the studio. It was awesome-licious. Having "The Eighty Four" as the opening band, it stirred an awesome feel getting ready to rock on with Oh Chentaku's set.

The band presented 11 songs, with friends and fans requesting for an encore. They played most of their popular ones, The Morning After, Theatre, Sampai Blia to name a few. Having three sessionist for their set, Liz on violins, Bob on bass, our TIS editor Becs on keyboard, the sound was fantastically full yet acoustic.
