The Journey of CODA

In issue #1, TIS brings you the band CODA in the music-interview column.

One of the many uprising indie bands in town, CODA started about three years ago. Having a change of line up a couple of times, that didn't stop the band from pushing themselves over the barrier. Having to audition in of the local competition, Blast Off in 2007, they walked away with 3rd place and won the best performance of the night award. The band started sailing smooth soon after. They categorized their music as pop rock, having influences of j-rock songs from animes, mostly finding their sound through fun stuff, happy stuff, something that breathes live, they are still in the verge of finding and making their own sound through j-rock and a little of their influence here and there. They are like mainly in the middle of going commercial and not.

The band signed with Siti Nurhaliza's label, S&P Productions, where they recorded their album. Having to record for a whole year, they recorded seven original songs of their choice, leaving the label to choose three wsong of their choice. Though most of their songs are in Bahasa Malaysia, they released their first single in English. Having ten songs in their album Retorick Audio, they released their album sometime in March 2009. You could ge a copy of it from speedy or any of their gigs, priced at RM 29.90 in stores, or buiy is straight from them at RM 26.90.
